Lansdown, Bath

Situated within the Bath Conservation Area this large extension to a 1960’s semi-detached house is designed to suit the planning brief that the extension should have its own distinctive character.

Separated by a three storey fully glazed connection the original pair of semi-detached houses remain as originally designed. The extension is also angled away from the original house to further emphasise its separation.

Another planning requirement was that the eaves and ridge of the new roof should be lower than on the existing house. To achieve this we used a low pitched zinc roof supported on structural tongue and grooved timber planks resting on laminated timber beams.
