Josie Reining is the latest recruit to the Esmond Murray Architects team. She joined the practice this month as a Part I assistant, and is already working on a number of our projects. Have a look at what she’s been up to…
Josie says “After graduating with a BArch (Hons) degree in Architecture from The University of Nottingham, Esmond Murray Architects was the perfect place for my year out. It’s a small practice so I have the satisfaction of real responsibilities, while the multitude of different projects which we are currently working on means I can expand my knowledge of every facet of the profession. The constant supply of cake in the office is quite nice too!”
Esmond Murray Architects have been enormously helpful in turning our vision for our new home into a reality. Their designs have maximised our views across the Charlcombe Valley, and turned our undercrofts into a bright living space with direct access onto our garden. They encouraged us to take the bold step of making our living space (kitchen, dining room and sitting room) into one open-plan area, which now means we look across the whole of the valley from every room. The back wall of the house is now effectively floor-to-ceiling glass.

The Church was very satisfied with the designs and the management of the project by Esmond Murray Architects. We were very impressed by the sensitivity to the need of the Church to function throughout the project.

We are very pleased with the end result; the new dining room and kitchen have that wow factor we were hoping for – Esmond Murray Architects were certainly the right choice for this project.
